OUR STUDIOS

“When I’m in the classroom I feel all squished… but when I’m in the studio I can stretch out my arms and be free.”

STUDENT

The Bus is a beautifully designed studio space on a converted double decker bus, currently located at The Cherwell School in Oxford. This studio was our first and inspired our name, AT (= Art Therapy) The Bus.

The bus exterior was designed for us by London-based artist Camille Walala and is an appealing presence on the school playground which is a point of interest and pride for students.

The Bus, our flagship studio, is also used for one-off workshops and promotional work in the community.

AT The Bus studio hubs are dedicated studio spaces provided within schools, exclusively for our work. Each studio provides a separate area for the three essential components of The Beattie Method (a comfortable sofa area; a table for eating together, a table for making art together). We now have seven permanent studios in Oxfordshire and London.

AT The Bus in a Box is a flexible mobile provision first developed during the covid-19 pandemic, offering schools without studio space the ability to benefit from our approach in any safe space within school. The box contains all the equipment and materials required to deliver our sessions. We are currently delivering these mobile sessions in two schools in Oxfordshire and two schools in London.
