SUPPORT & TRAINING
Every new member of staff undergoes an initial 6-week training programme with AT The Bus. Further in-house training days currently run twice every academic year - at the start of term in September and January.
These training days are for our whole staff and involve both our Oxford and London teams. They include regular safeguarding updates, deepening our practice through reflection and art-making, as well as hearing from experts in education, mental health and therapeutic arts fields.
We offer ongoing support to every team member, including regular meetings with the line managers, visits, discussions and support from the training team, and the opportunity to attend reflective practice sessions.
IN-HOUSE
We encourage all team members to take part in any further training opportunities offered by AT The Bus in partnership with other organisations, both in-person and online.
We work closely with our partner schools to remain well-informed and offer training that is most relevant to our work with children, young people and their families.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We offer training in The Beattie Method to staff in education settings who are already supporting children with complex needs and who wish to develop some therapeutic techniques to use in their current roles.
These sessions provide a balance of theoretical, experiential and reflective learning and are delivered by experienced AT The Bus Facilitators.
TRAINING FOR SCHOOLS
Once per year, we offer a six-session training course in The Beattie Method for people with an interest in education, art as therapy and working with children and and young people.
TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS
We offer a range of opportunities to organisations interested in art-based workshops, team-building or volunteering days.
