About the performers

Jeremy Capey

Jeremy studied cello performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Later he gained a further performance diploma from the Royal College of Music, where he was singled out for a special commendation based on the exceptional quality of his performance. Amongst his teachers have been Naomi Butterworth and Stefan Popov, and more recently he has much appreciated the professional guidance and support of Patricia Calnan. Jeremy has performed widely as both chamber and orchestral player and has often performed as a soloist, ranging from unaccompanied recitals to performing the Elgar Cello Concerto at Earl’s Court Arena in front of Queen Elizabeth II. He is currently the principal cellist of the Lyric Chamber Orchestra and cellist with the Lyric String Quartet.

Anne Willie

Anne took up the piano at the age of 6 with Primrose Fisher in Warwickshire, where she won the local Alcester Singers Young Musician of the Year. She went on to study piano and voice at Trinity College of Music with Simon Young and John Wakefield, on the English National Opera repetiteur scheme with Victor Morris, at York University with Peter Seymour and with John Cameron at the Royal Northern College of Music. She founded the education programme at London’s Wigmore Hall, and over the years has worked as accompanist/repetiteur for a range of singers, instrumentalists, choirs and operatic societies around the country, most recently with the Lyric Chamber Orchestra in Devon.
