90 children attended art workshops on the bus in a three day event sponsored by Selfridges in London. They created artworks inspired by the book The Boy With Flowers in His Hair by Jarvis which has just been shortlisted for Oscar’s Book Prize. Echoing the way we work in our art as therapy sessions, trays and clocks were transformed and taken home with pride.
“It was so cool that we got to make an object instead of just drawing on a piece of paper. The people who worked there were so kind and helpful.” Tabitha, aged 9.
The bus was parked in Edwards Mews, just behind Selfridges and, as a work of art in its own right, designed by artist Camille Walala, it received a lot of attention.
